Reading in schools

I am having a hard deciding where I stand about the question ... who should decide what is being read in schools? Should it be teachers, parents, administrators, other school officials and groups like the PTA, school boards and districts, or students?

I believe it should be up to the teachers. We are the once who know our students best.

I think teachers should decide what students should read. The teacher can ask the kids for their interests or subjects...But the final say is the teacher

The purpose of the reading should be taken into account. If a student is learning to read they should have the choice of what to read.

If the content of the reading is important to the child's education the teacher should choose.

If the object of the reading is an "agenda" the parents should choose.

As the student reaches a certain independent point in life the teacher should choose the books with regard to offering different viewpoints.
